Our former IVCA secretary Helga Thorwartl passed away on the 4th of October.
Helga started to build up a functioning IVCA secretary on the 29th of July 2006. She was a reliable partner for our members and the school owners. Her calm, determined nature was always a great help for everyone involved in the IVCA.
To enjoy her retirement Helga gave the office in younger hands and handed over to Kirstin. Helga’s last years were marked by serious illness. On the 4th of October she has lost that fight and passed away. We will always keep her in honorable memory. Our sincere condolences go to her family.

This is us, Dr. Nadine Blum and Dr. Julia Rohrbach. Besides working as senior vets as departmental heads of orthopedics and rehabilitation at two equine clinics in Germany, we founded the ABnR-Academy due to our profound interest into integrative equine medicine, biomechanics and rehabilitation.
We offer state-of-the-art CPD courses about equine biomechanics, rehabilitation and chiropractic to equine professionals, since we are convinced that chiropractic is one of the most important tools to intensely examine and functionally treat back and neck pain, performance issues and dysfunctional movement patterns.
Enhancing the health and wellbeing of our equine sports partners and sharing the understanding of functional anatomy and segmental biomechanics with colleagues from all around the world really feels like the best job in the world!

Hello!
I am a mixed animal veterinarian working in Southern Maryland (USA) and specialize in equine sports medicine. I became certified through Options for Animals earlier this year and have loved adding chiropractic services to my repertoire. I am always amazed at how such seemingly small adjustments can make a huge difference in an animals comfort.

IVCA Funded Research
Do you already know the IVCA research project?
With this project, we are supporting researches of licensed veterinarians or chiropractors.
We welcome applications and invite you to request our application form here
Dr. Marissa Palmer is reaching out with a statement for all who are interested in a funded research:
“We at the IVCA research committee are dedicated to advocating and advancing animal chiropractic and its principles through sponsoring research. We empower our members to actively give back not only to their patients, but to our profession. In these times, people want proof and objective measures to show that something is working or not.
I am sure you have all experienced “miracles” in your office treating human and animals through chiropractic. But what if we could qualitatively and quantitatively show what we are doing. That way we can get more animals under our care and literally save more lives. And as a bonus, you can say you are a published researcher. We can make chiropractic not a faith-based treatment but a gold standard of care so that every spine gets checked for subluxations.”
So, if you are ready to give back to your profession, please contact us: contact@ivca.de. We will get you in contact with us and provide you the proper applications to apply for funding to conduct your own research. Even if you are not sure exactly what you would like to do, we would be happy to answer any questions and at least help you start that brainstorming process. ... See MoreSee Less

To say I am excited about starting my career as an animal chiropractor would be an understatement. Part of becoming a human chiropractor for me was so that I could go into animal chiropractic. I have seen the incredible benefits that chiropractic care can have on someone's health, regardless of how many legs they have!
I have started a new mobile animal chiropractic business which I have called Dynamic Animal Chiropractic. I am based in Baldivis, Western Australia.
I am incredibly passionate about whole animal health and working with the body's incredible ability to heal from within. I also plan to add other modalities to my services, such as laser and other soft tissue modalities, but for now the focus is chiropractic.
From the perspective of a human chiropractor, I am slowly learning that taking care of our own health has a hugely positive effect on the health of our animals, and learning to take better care of myself has also improved my patient outcomes.
Last but not least, I am very passionate about client and patient education. I have seen the difference it makes, and aim to better educate my community on the benefits of chiropractic care.
I am so grateful to be a member of the IVCA. To be part of an international association that encourages the professional development of animal chiropractors is really special. There is always more to learn and I am excited to expand my knowledge base.
